POST ABOUT HOW TO GET NEW BLOGGER TEMPLATE EDITIOR

How to Use the New Blogger Template Editor

how to use the new Blogger template editor
Blogger just made a big change to the HTML template editor, much to the surprise of many Blogger users — me included!
The new look is a bit startling at first, but don't worry; your template code hasn't changed, it just looks different. Everything is still in the same place it used to be, there are just new ways to get there.
I have updated all of my tutorials that include template instructions, but Blogger tutorials from other sources may not be updated yet. This little tour through the new features will help you translate old tutorials so you can still use them with the new editor.
So, let's take a look at what's new!

Opening the Template

There's one less step in the process of opening the template. Now all you have to do is go to "Template" and click the "Edit HTML" button below your "Live on Blog" screenshot. It used to be that you had to press "Proceed" on an intermediate screen before getting to the template code, but that's gone now.

The New Buttons Up Top

There are a bunch of new buttons at the top of the template now! Some of the buttons have obvious uses — the "Back" button takes you back to your Blogger dashboard, the "Save template" button saves your template. The others need a little explaining:
  • Jump to Widget lets you go straight to a specific widget in your code (more on that later).
  • Edit Template & Preview Template toggle these buttons to switch from the code view of your blog to a preview of your blog with the changes you've made to your template.
  • Format Template cleans up your code to make it easier to read. It does not add or remove anything.
  • Revert Changes lets you delete your unsaved changes to your template. This is your best friend if you catch a mistake in your preview!
  • Revert Widget Templates to Default clears all of your changes to widgets and resets them to their original state.

No More "Expand Widget Templates"

Many Blogger tutorials ask you to check the "Expand Widget Templates" box at the top of the template, but that checkbox is gone now. Instead, all of your template's code is accessible when you open the template.
To get to a specific widget within your blog, you can use the "Jump to Widget" button.
This is fairly self-explanatory when you're looking for a default Blogger gadget; just select the name of the gadget you want to edit. But, HTML/JavaScript gadgets will show up in this list by their HTML ID number. There's a quick way to find the right widget ID so you can jump right to the widget you want to edit.
Finding HTML Widgets
To find the ID of an HTML widget, go to your blog and hover your cursor over the wrench icon at the bottom of your widget. When you do that, you'll see a URL appear at the bottom of your browser window. Look for "widgetID=" in the URL.
The HTML number after "widgetID=" is your widget's ID. Select that ID from the "Jump to Widget" menu to go straight to that widget's section in your blog's HTML.

Searching the Code

Some Blogger tutorials ask you to look for specific lines of code in your template. There's a built-in search feature in the template now that will take you straight to your line of code and highlight it in yellow to make it even easier to see.
To search for a line of code, place your cursor over the code, click once, and press ctrl and f at the same time (PC) or command and f (Mac) to open the search box.
Type in the code you want to find, then press enter.
The template will jump to your code and highlight it in yellow.
You can use the search box to perform find-and-replace searches, too. You can read more about this advanced option on Blogger Buzz.

Reading the Folded Code

Sometimes, you just need to read through chunks of your code, line by line. As you look through the new editor, you'll notice that the lines of code are numbered. And, you'll see that there are lots of big gaps in the line numbers; for example, a jump from line 13 to line 582. That's because the code is "folded". You can expand folded code by clicking the folder arrows.
animated image of a folded code section opening in the new Blogger editorIn some areas, multiple levels of code are folded into each other, so you may need to "unfold" a few blocks of code to find the section you want. Don't forget, if the folding and unfolding gets tedious, you can always use the search feature to find specific blocks of code.

What Do You Think?

Are you warming up to the new editor? Let me know in the comments!

Recover deleted post together with deleted comments

Previously you should be able to recover a deleted post with original permalink together with the comments. However, something has changed and the method no longer works. However, you can still use any of the other 5 methods described in this post - How to recover deleted posts to restore the content, but it will have a different permalink and zero comment, thus having to start from scratch all over.

However, you can still recover your comments because even though the post is deleted, the comments are still saved in the Dashboard > Settings > Comments. The only thing is the comments are in ordered according to time and not according to the post, the latest comment at the top. So you would have to search for those comments which are associated with the deleted post title. So to restore the comments, use the methods described at this post -How to restore deleted comments.

if you moderate your comments via email notifications and you have not deleted those emails, you can also get the content of the comment and repost them as described above.

New Blogger post editor - birthday gif

Blogger has launched a new post editor (as a 10th birthday gift?) which they say is an improvement over the old pre-birthday post editor. You can switch to the new post editor by signing into Dashboard and go to SETTINGS > BASIC. At the bottom in Global Settings (this means your choice is not limited to a single blog but to all the blogs in your Blogger account), you will find the choice to select either the ( ) old editor or the ( ) Updated editor. You can read about the updated editor at An overview of the new post editor.

Blogger claims improved image handling with the new post editor. Now when you upload a photo, it will be placed at the insertion point (cursor) rather than always at the very top of the post editor and dragging it (in the COMPOSE mode will not kill the link to the enlarged photo as with the old editor. However, this "improvement" comes with a price. The photo upload icon is missing from the toolbar in the updated post editor in Edit HTML mode. Looks like Blogger have dropped the video upload icon for that is missing in both Edit HTML modeas well as the Compose mode

Compare the toolbars of the old and new editors below:

Toolbar in EDIT HTML mode with old post editor

Toolbar in EDIT HTML mode with new post editor

Toolbar in COMPOSE mode with old post editor

Blogger toolbar of updated post editor in COMPOSE mode
Toolbar in COMPOSE mode with new post editor

I have tested the photo upload with the new editor and I don't like it. Fortunately one can easily toggle between the old post editor and the updated post editor. Go to Dashboard, SETTINGS > BASIC and at the bottom, you will find the Global Settings (meaning whatever changes you do here will apply to all the blogs in the same Blogger account). There you can select the old editor again. May try the new post editor again sometime in the future. I understand Blogger may do some tweaking after negative feedbacks. See screen shot below:

POST ABOUT How to Get Your First 1000 Twitter Followers

How to Get Your First 1000 Twitter Followers

Update: There are so many readers got their first 1000 twitter followers after reading & following this post.
So, I’m damn sure it works for you too!
Here I will discuss few free tools to manage your twitter account with ease to grow your followers.
I’m sure you will love this article. By the end of this article you will get benefited. Take it for granted :)
Lets dive in..
First off what is twitter? Why to grow your twitter followers?
Easy question. I’ll also try to answer in easy way.
Twitter is a social networking site and it’s all about 140 characters (which is called “Micro Blogging”)
For any blog, if you want to get more traffic and better promotion you should use social media like twitter, facebook, StumbleUpon, digg etc.
Twitter is a better media to promote your blog and to drive traffic to your blog.

How to Get Your First 1000 Twitter Followers?

Follow: Follow blindly whoever is in your niche. But how can you know who is in your niche?
Simple.. Use twiends for this. Enter your are of interests and start following the people. BTW twiends is a free tool.
If you just want more/anonymous twitter followers, then try following all without using any tools like this – but I wouldn’t recommend it. What’s the use if you have anonymous twitter followers who don’t share your content? You should have TARGETED twitter followers to get most out of it right?
Be active: At least for the next one month, try to use twitter as much as you can.
Use this quick tips to be active on twitter
  1. Follow the famous persons in your niche
  2. Retweet their tweets (regularly)
  3. Unfollow those who don’t follow you back (even after 5 days or 1 week) by using tools like tweepi (it’s a free tool)
  4. Tweet your better articles/what you feel is good to share
Repeat the process until you reach 1000 followers.
You may find it difficult in the beginning, but believe me, you will surely get 1000 twitter followers.

Points you should keep in mind to get your first 1000 twitter followers

Don’t be too selfish: Start promoting others as well. Then only you will be get noticed by them and they will also promote you.
Don’t follow too many: Avoid following too many members. You can follow 300 followers in a day (it’s not an exact figure, you can follow even more – till 1000 followers/day). But I suggest don’t do that.
When your twitter figure reaches 2000 and if you don’t have enough followers (more than 1800+) then you can’t follow anyone else!! You should flush those who are not following you. And start again following. Simple, isn’t it?
Your Turn:
You simply put your twitter name in the comments section below to be followed by others. And don’t forget to follow the remaining too.
Come on.. What are you waiting for??
Do consider sharing this so that more people can know this and you’ll get more twitter followers from this :)

POST ABOUT HOW TO CONVINCE YOUR PARENTS TO LET YOU BLOG

convince parents to blog
The reason you clicked on this post is you are also facing the same problem.
I am a student, and I am a blogger.
Only a student and a blogger (together) can understand how difficult it is to manage both of them together. Our life just goes like Spiderman and superman, two really tiring jobs to do
Actually when you talk about Internet before someone the first thing that strikes his mind is social networking. That’s the influence of social media in our lives and second thing which comes in mind of many people is porn. We will not discuss it here.
So the question is how to change their mentality and point of view so that they don’t disturb you when you blog.
My family was not so convinced with the online style of doing business and making money online they didn’t understood why I blog and why I am so passionate about writing so what I did was followed some steps to convince them and show them that I am not wasting my time on internet.
When it comes to convincing your family, there is one thing I want to say. If you can’t convince you family then stop dreaming because you can’t convince anyone else in this world.
So from my real life experience here is, some working ways to convince your family to let you blog.

1. Pick the right time – create proper environment at your home

Want to finally tell your family that you want to opt blogging as career, tell them that you love blogging more than pursuing engineering or medical studies. Well, directly saying it is not a piece of cake.
What will dad say?
What will be mom’s reaction?
How will the other relatives react on knowing this?
These kinds of questions actually start eating you from inside when your family is already not convinced with the online stuff.
From my experience the first thing you need to do is be patient and start creating environment in your home. Like whenever something related to writing or business comes up then connect the chat with online stuff.
Do you know that a blogger’s income can reach more than any IITian?
Show the income proofs of other bloggers. Let your parents know that ‘blogging’ is an emerging media to make money online.
These type of activities will create positive side of this field on your family and they don’t know that you are just preparing them for the final talk.
Whenever you have time, like during dinner when the whole family is together start discussing about blogging success stories how a guy started working from home and now makes millions from his passion. In my case I used the story of Amit Agarwal from Digital Inspiration.

2. Go hard or go home

Want to be a blogger? Then start working hard on everything except blogging.
It might sound stupid but this strategy really works on your family.
So what if you don’t like to study actually no one does but there is no loss if work hard in this semester and score some good marks and show your family that you are now concentrating towards studies.
Every parent wants their son to be the topper of the class but they don’t understand that there is only one first position.
If you can’t perform well yourself then decrease the marks of your friends and tell them that you got highest marks in your class.
This will tell your family that you are now serious about your studies and your career and you have started to think about your life this time seriously.

3. Show them your dedication

Whenever you work online show them your dedication, just block all the other stuff and start typing but remember when you do so then keep in mind that there should be someone around you who could observer you.
When your family members will that how much dedicated you are towards blogging and you love what you do then I am sure they will take your decision more seriously.
After this just go and tell them what plans you have for your future, if they are still not happy with your decision then there are two things which always work
  1. Rebel
  2. Emotional Blackmail
The first three ways worked for me and I didn’t require using the last two methods.

What if your parents still say NO?

Don’t hesitate in telling them about your online dreams so what if they are not so convinced with the online style of doing business they are your family they will not eat you. They will accept and respect your decision if you are happy with what you are doing. And they will be proud of seeing your name in the world’s best bloggers.
  • First off, know why they are not letting you to blog.
  • Understand that they were brought up differently, they might have misconceptions about online businesses viz scams, frauds etc.
  • Be patient. Don’t give up and try again
How do you convince your parents to keep your blogging? Do you have any more tips
